About us

We are at the beginning of a journey building an environment supporting artists and creators to do their best work in the beautiful surroundings of the Mendip Hills.

Equidistant between Bristol and Bath, we are working with local artists and creators, while we finalise our plans to provide on-site accommodation to allow artists from further afield to work on projects in a peaceful environement designed for creativity.

CV/Gate is a reference to our position as a gateway to the beautiful lakes of the Chew Valley, but also to the pre-midi protocol for controlling the analog electronic instruments we love.

How We Can Help

Rehearse

Studio Zero is our 250 sq.ft rehearsal space with a1200W PA system and 16 inputs controlled via an analog mixer. We can also supply:

  • Fender Champion 100W / Rumble 100W bass amps

  • Line 6 POD Pro HD Effects Processor

  • Mapex drum kit (fully mic’d,)

  • Roland F30 Digital Piano / Roland JP-08 / Roland TR-08

  • Various dynamic and condensor mics

You can take a stereo recording direct from the mixer, but if you want more control, we also have audio interfaces to take 16 channels into your laptop DAW.

We also have a Mac with Logic Pro and a 16 channel control surface if you want some help.

While supporting artists in Studio Zero, we are busy planning the evolution of CV/Gate:

  • Studio One (a larger rehearsal and recording space)

  • Studio Two (a dedicated control/mixing spce)

  • Studio Three (a dedicated Writing/Vocal/Podcasting space)

We hope to open these up during 2027/28, Keep an eye on our blog to see progress (hopefully with lots of pictures of hard hats and heavy machinery)

Relax

Nobody wants to stop and go home when you’re in the middle of your best work.

Alonside the development of the new studio space, we are planning two accomodation pods which will allow upto 6 peope to stay on-site, so no need to stop when you’re on a roll.
